Free employee resource · 2026 regular pay

See what goes into your paycheck.

Start with the taxable pay and current elections your employer uses. Estimate federal, Social Security, Medicare and a supported state method, then see the arithmetic behind each line.

Estimate only. This is a regular-paycheck withholding estimate, not a payroll approval or an annual tax-return calculation. It does not guarantee your take-home pay, tax due or a refund.

Have these ready

  • Your existing W-4 and state withholding elections.
  • This check’s separate federal, state, Social Security and Medicare taxable wages.
  • This employer’s Social Security and Medicare wages before this check in 2026.
  • Confirmed cash deductions, local tax and employee payroll-program amounts, if any.

A pay statement may label taxable pay differently. Read your pay statement or ask payroll what each wage base includes.

Check the fit first

This release covers ordinary U.S. employee regular pay, four standard frequencies, and a confirmed full-year residence and all work in one state. Each state method has further limits.

Moves, multistate work, reciprocity, nonresident allocations, unusual period counts, special employment and separate supplemental methods need another review. NYC and Yonkers are outside this release.

Local taxes and required employee programs are supplied amounts, except Maryland’s selected combined state/local table. Unknown amounts stay unknown.

The figures stay in this page’s memory. They are not uploaded, sent to AI, saved to your profile or stored in the browser. Account checks use session information only. Leaving or restoring this page clears the figures. Do not enter names, Social Security numbers, account numbers or street addresses.

Choose the next question

Am I on track for the year? compares a separate annual tax estimate with YTD withholding and actual remaining paydates. Paycheck withholding alone does not establish annual tax owed.

Which official agency should I check? helps organize home, work and office questions without making an address-based tax determination.

How could eligible benefits change taxable pay? compares confirmed benefit choices and their limits. This estimator does not decide benefit eligibility or taxability.

Read the method, not just the result

Federal source check: November 4, 2026. Each selected state displays its own reviewed source date and method limits. A source retrieval is not a guarantee that every payroll case is supported.

For 2026, employee Social Security is 6.2% up to $184,500 of applicable same-employer wages. Medicare is 1.45% without a wage cap. Additional Medicare withholding is 0.9% above $200,000 paid by that employer; its annual-return calculation has different rules. Employer taxes are not deducted from your take-home pay here.
