Find a fictional employee. Read the job, compensation and elections. Follow a pay statement into year-to-date totals, then inspect the evidence behind each W-2 training box.
Compare job, work location, hourly rate or annual salary, and supplied federal, state and local elections. Contractor fees stay separate. All compensation is authored fiction, not a market benchmark. A home address alone does not establish withholding treatment.
One statement, then YTD
Keep a single pay period separate from cumulative totals. The directory uses clearly labelled authored baseline records. A selected closed introductory run adds statements for its five workers, while the other profiles remain baseline-only.
W-2 sources, box by box
Read known, partial, unknown and not-applicable values. A known subtotal is not a completed box. Missing evidence stays visible rather than becoming an invented zero or a filing-ready form.
Use the preview to ask better questions.
Which tax year, source period and employee does this record cover?
Does a total come from an authored baseline, one closed practice run, or an unmapped calculation?
Is an amount known, partly known, missing, or outside the exercise?
The company, workers, addresses, identifiers and packets are fictional. W-2 mappings use explicitly dated training sources; the introductory employee and employer tax model is invented. This is not production payroll, tax advice, an issued statement or a filing. No statement, payment or return is delivered to an employee, bank, vendor or authority.
