Everyday Tools Learning

Know the tool.
Move the work.

Turn a request list into a checked queue. Plan a meeting people can act on. Find the right file and make the handoff clear.

Practical learning for the office work between the big deadlines — across HR, payroll, finance, operations and the teams around them.

Three written pilots · enrollment coming soonPreview the scope now. Course prices and per-learner license terms are being prepared; ordering is not open.

Start with a job to be done

A useful result.
Not a tour of every menu.

Each written pilot has five lessons, original fictional practice and a separate worked key. Times are self-study estimates. Full lessons and exercises will open through the course’s eventual licensed access.

Excel Day to Day

From request list to clear handoff

Organize a small supply list, bring back the right price and explain exactly which requests your total includes.

The fictional project: Build an approved purchasing queue and a budget handoff without losing the source records or treating a missing price as zero.

Preview the five-lesson syllabus
  1. Give the list a reliable home.
  2. Bring back the right price.
  3. Find the work without breaking the rows.
  4. Answer a precise money question.
  5. Finish two small workflows.

Tables, sort/filter, SUM, SUMIFS and exact XLOOKUP, with an INDEX/MATCH compatibility route. Excel for Microsoft 365 baseline; desktop/web differences explained.

Outlook, Calendar & Teams Meetings

Make the invitation match the purpose

Choose the right calendar item, make time zones explicit and keep changes attached to the original meeting.

The fictional project: Prepare a meeting plan, handle a schedule change and leave a clear action record. Practice on paper or in a text editor without sending invitations.

Preview the five-lesson syllabus
  1. Choose the right calendar item.
  2. Find a time and make the time zone explicit.
  3. Prepare the Outlook invitation and Teams join route.
  4. Update or cancel the original meeting.
  5. Leave with a useful action record.

New Outlook for Windows or Outlook on the web is the teaching baseline. Available Teams scheduling depends on the actual account and organization settings.

Find, Name & Share the Right File

A filename is a clue, not the whole record

Separate an approved shared record from a convenient local copy. Choose an audience and a role before handing a file over.

The fictional project: Review a file inventory, choose the right record, plan access and write a handoff. No real cloud uploads or permission changes are needed.

Preview the five-lesson syllabus
  1. Find the right record, not just a familiar filename.
  2. Give the next person a name and a place they can use.
  3. Separate the audience from the permission.
  4. Check access without fixing the wrong problem.
  5. Find the download and leave a useful handoff.

Examples cover OneDrive, SharePoint, Google Drive, browser downloads and local folders, with organization and account differences made explicit.

Can I enroll now?

Enrollment and ordering are not open. The three pilots are written for review; the rest are planned. Course prices, final per-learner license terms and access arrangements will be shown before ordering opens.

Will I need the software?

Software, subscriptions, accounts and licensed seats are not included. The Excel pilot uses your own permitted Excel environment. The meetings and files pilots include fictional offline practice. Actual account features and organization permissions can differ.

Does this include a certification?

These pilots use practical self-checks and separate worked examples. They do not award a vendor certification, professional credential or Payroll Academy credit.

How does this relate to the five Payroll Academy levels?

Everyday Tools Learning is a separate learning family. The existing five Payroll Academy levels retain their own curriculum, licenses, prerequisites, assessments and progression rules.

What do the broader tool labels mean?

Adobe is currently scoped to planned Acrobat/PDF work, and the Microsoft and Google suite entries are workflow orientations. The planned Authenticator module distinguishes Microsoft Authenticator from general TOTP apps; an organization-required method cannot be assumed interchangeable.
